Held in conjunction with the Help the Homeless Walkathon
Fall Fundraising Drive
The Home Builders Care Foundation's Annual Fall Fundraising Drive is held each year in conjunction with the Help the Homeless Walkathon, hosted by Fannie Mae. For our eleventh straight year, Home Builders Care Foundation (HBCF) has been selected as a beneficiary of the Help the Homeless Program - a grand fund-raising and awareness-raising program that culminates in a scenic 5k Walk on the National Mall and around the Tidal Basin on the Saturday before Thanksgiving. The 2011 event is tentatively scheduled for Saturday, November 19.
Fannie Mae’s Help the Homeless Walkathon program is a great way to show that home builders care. By supporting the Home Builders Care Foundation’s (HBCF) participation in the Walkathon, MNCBIA members are not only able to help fund HBCF’s shelter-related projects, but are also able to raise awareness of the home building industry’s contributions to our communities.
As a beneficiary agency of the Help the Homeless Walkathon, HBCF can raise funds by securing corporate partners, recruiting walkers and qualifying for Fannie Mae offered incentives. Money raised will help HBCF leverage the in-kind assistance we can provide to local non-profit organizations serving the homeless and at-risk populations. Every dollar counts in our fund drive and has the potential to earn a 20% match from the Help the Homeless program.
HBCF is able to raise money through this event in the following ways:
- CONTRIBUTIONS DIRECTLY TO HBCF (preferred for MNCBIA members)
HBCF is asking that all financial contributions (100% tax-deductible) be made directly to HBCF. We will be pooling MNCBIA member contributions under the association's name and signing on as a high-level partner of the Walkathon to gain positive exposure for the industry and possibly qualify MNCBIA member contributions for a 20% match. - Help the Homeless WALKER REGISTRATION FEES and SPONSORS
JOIN US! Individual walkers can register to walk in the Help the Homeless Walkathon and earmark their financial support for HBCF when they register. In addition, HBCF receives funds from walker-solicited pledges and contributions. IMPORTANT NOTE: After clicking the "Register Now" button, please choose "Home Builders Care Foundation - MD013" from the drop down list of beneficiaries to make your registration dollars COUNT!
- Help the Homeless PARTNER SPONSORSHIPS with FANNIE MAE
Fannie Mae Help the Homeless sponsorships are available starting at the $1,500 level and ranging upward through a $100,000 level. Your sponsorship dollars can be earmarked for HBCF in support of our participation in the HTH Walkathon. Sponsors can take advantage of many promotional opportunities through Help the Homeless posters, signs, t-shirts and advertisements. The first promotional deadline is in October. Please contact HBCF Manager Patti B. Kane for more information on how to sign up as a Fannie Mae Sponsor so that HBCF will benefit. IMPORTANT NOTE: All forms must be completed correctly by listing “Home Builders Care Foundation MD013” as the referral agency AND most importantly - the selected beneficiary.
