| The Calvert County Department of Economic Development announced that the Home Builders Care Foundation (HBCF) will donate $8,400 to the Calvert Country Market (CCM), Prince Frederick. HBCF is the charitable arm of the Southern Maryland Home Builders Association and the Maryland – National Capital Building Industry Association (MNCBIA). The donation will be used to help renovate a training facility at CCM.
HBCF established a special tornado relief fund to assist the rebuilding of the community after the April 28, 2002 tornado hit Southern Maryland. "We decided to see who was effected by the tornado and who didn’t get any assistance," said Tom Allhoff, Somerset Homes vice president."The list of Calvert’s farms that sustained tornado damage was too extensive to effectively assist each. Therefore, HBCF decided to donate funds to Calvert Country Market, where the entire agricultural community could benefit."

HBCF funds will be used to create a training facility at the Market during the winter renovation. The Calvert County agricultural community will be able to use this facility for seminars and workshops, and to teach citizens about agriculture in other related areas.
