Fulton, MD (March 31, 2026) — The Home Builders Care Foundation (HBCF), the official charity of the Maryland Building Industry Association (MBIA), is proud to announce a new affiliation agreement with the Frederick County Building Industry Association (FCBIA), establishing HBCF as the official charity partner of FCBIA.
Through this partnership, HBCF will expand its mission of providing donated construction expertise and resources to nonprofit organizations that offer shelter and housing support to individuals and families experiencing homelessness or housing instability.
This collaboration brings together two essential stakeholder groups in Frederick County: professional home builders and construction trades, and nonprofit organizations serving vulnerable populations. By aligning industry expertise with community needs, HBCF will deliver impactful improvements to housing facilities that support those most in need.
With each project, HBCF invests in its nonprofit partners through in-kind contributions of construction services, materials, and professional expertise. These enhancements enable organizations to redirect critical financial resources toward expanding programs and services—helping more individuals and families achieve and maintain stable housing.
The newly established Frederick County chapter will focus on identifying opportunities where local builders, contractors, and suppliers can make a lasting difference in their community.
“By partnering with FCBIA, we are strengthening our ability to connect the local building industry with nonprofits that are working every day to support vulnerable members of our community,” said Patti Kane, Director of the Home Builders Care Foundation. “Together, we can expand our reach into Frederick County and deliver meaningful improvements that help organizations serve more people.”
Danielle Adams, CEO of FCBIA, added, “We are excited to support those in need of shelter in our region and are proud to partner with an organization with such a strong and successful track record as HBCF.” This affiliation reflects a shared commitment to community service and highlights how the building industry can leverage its unique skills and resources to create lasting, positive change.
To celebrate the new partnership, FCBIA will host a Spring Happy Hour Fundraiser benefiting the Home Builders Care Foundation on Wednesday, April 22, from 4:30–7:00 PM at Bloomfields Clubhouse, 399 Crown Point Drive, Frederick, MD. Attendees are invited to shake off winter and step into spring at this feel-good kickoff event celebrating the new affiliation between FCBIA and HBCF. Guests will enjoy drinks, light bites, and networking with industry peers in the beautiful setting of Bloomfields Clubhouse, a new 55+ community in north Frederick—all while supporting a cause that gives back. Come spend a morning or afternoon at the ALL IN Painting Project and help brighten up a shelter.

The Nebel Street Emergency Shelter, a program of the Montgomery County Coaltion for the Homeless (MCCH), is celebrating four years of opening doors to our neighbors in crisis. MCCH is a long-time partner of Home Builders Care Foundation.

All you need to bring is your enthusiasm and a water bottle.

Simply sign up below for the time that best suits your schedule AM or PM. I'll be there for the afternoon shift. Join us! Write "MBIA HBCF" as your group name or create your own by bringing friends or co-workers. Lots of space for teams.
