Home Builders Care is the Maryland Building Industry Association's (MBIA) official charity and its principal way for BUILDERS to GIVE BACK.
In order to help others in need of shelter and support, the Home Builders Care program depends on you and members of the association – the dedicated builders, suppliers, contractors, and professionals of MBIA – who are willing to step up and help out on projects by sharing their expertise. Our annual Community Service Awards are a way to recognize key individuals and companies for their outstanding contributions through unselfish efforts and dedication to help others in need. Our Community Builder Award Winner is Mr. Donald Carter with The Columbia Building Company. Donald has been the steadfast Builder Captain on our project to improve and enhance a Prince George’s County domestic violence safehouse that provides emergency shelter to hundreds of women and children each year. Our Directors Award is presented in recognition of vision and leadership for advocating for HBCF within the building community and championing HBCF causes. year’s winner is someone who has been one of the leading champions for Home Builders Care over the past several years serving as the Chair of our Project Committee - Dave Lunden. Dave recently left his position with Timberlake Homes and is now working in Tennessee. The recipients of our Tom Sawyer Awards are all part of the team that provided at no cost - site plans, permit work, demolition, earthwork, new plantings, and the construction of a 90 ft. ADA-compliant concrete front walk and ramp - all to help the ARC of Howard County create new units of supportive and accessible housing for 4 disabled individuals on their housing waiting list.
Thank you all for your outstanding hands-on charitable efforts that make a difference in the lives of others in need. The cooperation, dedication and spirit of our 2023 Community Service Award Winner is an excellent example of why the Home Builders Care program is successful in helping improve the lives of at-risk individuals and families in our communities. Congratulations and thank you to all our winners! |
