Home Builders Begin 2021 with our $100,000 COVID CRISIS RECOVERY INITIATIVE
The initiative targets assistance to key local nonprofits that have been instrumental in providing intensified emergency services during the pandemic. Through this initiative, we are aiming to supplement our provision of transitional shelter by helping safeguard essential services that are greatly needed during these challenging times.
The Light House Inc. - a homeless prevention support center in Annapolis - will use funds for their Safe Harbour Resource Center which provides food, personal hygiene services, referral services and much more to community clients.
United Communities Against Poverty - helping people facing social and economic hardships in Prince George's County - will use funds to help deliver up to 400 meals per day to residents at the Shepherd's Cove Emergency Family Shelter.
Columbia Community Care is a grassroots "neighbor helping neighbor" food distribution program in Howard County. Funds are being used to support their 100% volunteer run pantries and distribution sites. There are no barriers for families to receive assistance.
During the the first quarter of 2021, $100,000 has been allocated to 10 local nonprofits, each serving a local jurisdiction within our service footprint. This amounts to about $10k per jurisdiction. Videos from each of our beneficiaries are being posted on our YouTube Channel as awards are distributed. Funds are being donated directly to effective organizations that provides emergency services such as assistance with paying rent, utilities, food and other basic needs. We are doing our part NOW to help reach thousandsof Marylanders in need:
by supporting FOOD and SHELTER programs
by boosting UTILITY and RENT RELIEF funds
by ensuring CASE MANAGEMENT services are extended
by supplementing RAPID RE-HOUSING AID programs
by promoting MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES to low-income students and families
10jurisdictions targeted - $10K each - all the areas served by MBIA and HBCF. 10nonprofits identified - all instrumental in providing intensified emergency services to the needy as a result of the pandemic.
