The goal of our Turn Key Project Grant Program is to make it easier for nonprofits to complete small scale construction projects – usually with only one trade - by offering resources and funding to help get them done quickly. Most Turn Key Project Grants are limited to $7,500 and under and are designed to address simple maintenance or repair projects.
For example - our first Turn Key project helped a nonprofit needing a simple flooring replacement in a few of its apartments for formerly homeless women. As with all HBCF programs, eligible projects for a Turn Key Project Grant must be shelter-focused, serve vulnerable populations, and have local community support. All Turn Key Project Grant Applications must include a minimum of two (2) bids/proposals for the project work to be done. If you need an additional resource to potentially find bidders, one resource is MBIA's "Find a Member " online directory webpage. Turn Key Project Funding is limited each calendar year and our goal is to commit to projects in a timely manner. Our Board of Directors expects to review your application within 30 days of its receipt. If approved, funds are available to be distributed once a project is ready to begin. Projects then must be completed within six months. Every Small Action Can Have Big Impact
