Housing is an essential human need and an important determinant of health. According to a recent study, housing stability, quality, safety, and affordability all affect health outcomes, as do the physical and social characteristics of neighborhoods.

We all need to work together to solve the comprehensive problems of housing stability and homelessness. The reasons an individual or family finds itself in crisis are many - they include displacement due to natural disasters, domestic violence, loss of employment, the onset of physical disabilities, addiction and mental health issues. As builders, we hold a special key to helping solve homelessness and improving the quality of life of others in need by providing shelter and housing to the vulnerable in our local communities.
The Home Builders Care Foundation believes that a home is everything, so we help the home building industry and non-profit organizations come together to address this challenging problem in a way that is efficient and effective for all involved. There are many ways you can be a part of the solution, and we hope you’ll join us in building for those in need.
