Volunteer your expertise on a shelter-related project
As builders, our industry holds a key to preventing and ending homelessness. Through the Home Builders Care Foundation, we hope you will help us build to make a difference in the lives of others in need of a home in Maryland. Our project selection focuses on increasing capacities and improving space at housing facilities, shelters and other community-based facilities where housing and supportive social services are delivered hand-in-hand. In our communities, the need to build supportive housing and provide shelter for the homeless is continuous. The Project Captain is the centerpiece of our program. It showcases our industry’s expertise and builds goodwill. For each project, we match our non-profit partnering organization with a member company of the industry - a home builder, developer, general contractor or trade partner (“Project Captain”) who spearheads a project with assistance from an HBCF Board Member. The Foundation Director and the HBCF Board of Directors at large provide further project support. HBCF donations and other project contributions have historically covered most project costs. The Project Captain is rewarded with a tangible way to give back to the community by volunteering their firm's expertise and stepping up with resources. We could all use your help.
