The Home Builders Care Foundation is constantly expanding its activities. HBC Utilities LLC is a program that provides an alternative way for developers to support HBCF through the donation of front foot benefit assessments in new residential communities in Maryland. The objective of the HBCF Utilities program is to establish an endowment base so that we can sustain the increased efforts of the Home Builders Care program for years to come. Since 2005, this program has done just that - with all revenue realized by the LLC being put directly to work on construction projects that benefit the homeless and others in need of safe shelter. HBC Utilities LLC’s income is derived from the utility front foot benefit assessments (FFBA’s) charged to homeowners typically over a period of 23-30 years, to pay for the developer's cost of installing water and sewer lines adjacent to their homes. HBC Utilities LLC is asking MBIA developers to sell FFBA’s at a discounted rate or donate them outright. Please contact the HBCF office to learn more about this giving opportunity. Over a year ago, Home Builders Care Foundation pledged its support to Marian House and their Independence Place phase II expansion project in Baltimore City - the total gut rehab and transformation of a former rectory and convent into a 17 bedroom safe and supportive community for homeless women with children. Yesterday, our board members received invitations to the June 5 grand opening celebration. Congratulations to Marian House on your many amazing accomplishments. Thank you for all you do to lead women and families to well-being and stability. They make quite an impact - Check out their video - |
